Withdrawal Policy

1. Introduction

"Al-Bahth" (the Inquiry) is committed to fostering a productive and supportive environment for scholarly discourse. This policy outlines the procedures for scholars to formally withdraw their submissions from consideration for publication.

2. Grounds for Withdrawal

Scholars may withdraw their submissions for a variety of reasons, including:

  • Identification of Errors or Inconsistencies: If, after submission, the author discovers significant errors or inconsistencies in the research or analysis, withdrawal allows for necessary corrections before resubmission.
  • Change in Direction of Research: The author's research focus may shift, making the submitted work no longer relevant to their current scholarly pursuits.
  • Duplicate Submission: If the author inadvertently submits the same work to multiple publications concurrently, withdrawal from one journal allows for proper focus on the chosen publication.
  • Ethical Concerns: If ethical concerns arise regarding the research methodology, data collection, or authorship, withdrawal allows for proper review and potential resubmission with necessary adjustments.

3. Withdrawal Procedures

  • Scholars can initiate withdrawal by submitting a written request to the editorial team. This request should clearly state the title of the submission and the author's intent to withdraw.
  • The request can be sent via email or through the journal's online submission system, depending on the platform used.

4. Timing of Withdrawal

  • Withdrawal is permitted before the editorial decision is communicated to the author.
  • Once the peer-review process has begun, withdrawal becomes more complex. The editorial team will consult with the reviewers to determine if the review process is complete or nearing completion. In such cases, the author may still be able to withdraw the manuscript, but may be responsible for any review fees incurred.

5. Consequences of Withdrawal

  • Withdrawn submissions will not be further considered for publication in "Al-Bahth."
  • Repeated withdrawals without justification may be viewed unfavorably in future submissions.

6. Resubmission

  • Withdrawn work can be resubmitted to "Al-Bahth" after addressing the reasons for withdrawal. The resubmission will be treated as a new submission and undergo the full peer-review process.

7. Confidentiality

  • "Al-Bahth" maintains the confidentiality of withdrawn submissions. Reviewers will not be informed of the author's decision to withdraw unless absolutely necessary (e.g., to avoid duplicate submissions).
